Development Methodologies
Vauldex Technologies develops client products
with a focus on agile and hybrid development methodologies.
Agile Product Development at Speed
This development method involves cycling through "planning, development, and verification" phases over periods of a few weeks, refining the product's quality while reviewing actual, functional screens. Because it allows for the timely incorporation of market changes and ideas arising from the field, it is ideal for new business ventures and web services that demand speed and flexibility. It enables continuous, flexible refinement of the product while maintaining the established framework for the overall budget and release schedule.

Iterative Development (Repeated cycles of development, verification, and adaptation)
Hybrid development that balances planning certainty with on-site flexibility.
This development methodology combines the strengths of both Waterfall and Agile approaches. By finalizing the overall budget, delivery schedule, and core features at the outset, internal decision-making and budget management proceed smoothly. At the same time, the development of detailed features and screen designs utilizes Agile cycles, allowing for a flexible process where actual screens can be reviewed as work progresses. It achieves a high-level balance between business certainty and operational flexibility in product creation.
Two Hybrid Development Methods
METHOD 01
Waterfall-first approach
We first establish the core infrastructure—such as the overall design and databases—using a reliable Waterfall approach. Building upon that foundation, we rapidly develop screens and features using Agile methods, refining the product's quality through verification on actual devices.
METHOD 02
Agile-first approach
In the initial phase, we use an Agile approach to rapidly build prototypes and validate or finalize the actual user experience and specifications. Once requirements are clearly defined, we transition to the Waterfall model to proceed with full-scale development steadily, adhering to the established budget and schedule.
Hybrid development is recommended for companies facing these kinds of challenges.
Case 01
We want to finalize the total budget in advance for internal approval and authorization.
Case 02
We want to optimize the features we build based on the situation, while avoiding the risk of additional costs.
Vauldex Technologies' Hybrid Development (Contract Development) Process
- 01
Requirements Definition and Overall Concept
We clarify the product's purpose and overall scope, and establish the project schedule and the prioritization of features to be implemented.
- 02
Detailed design of the core infrastructure
We robustly design and finalize the "system infrastructure"—including databases, infrastructure, and security—from the outset, as subsequent changes in these areas would result in significant rework.
- 03
Agile (Sprint) Development
Development proceeds in short cycles (sprints) of one to two weeks. We implement high-priority features sequentially while reviewing and adjusting actual, working screens.
- 04
Integration and Acceptance Testing
We conduct integration testing of all functions and security verification, followed by a final operational check in the customer's environment under conditions simulating actual production use.
- 05
Production Release & Continuous Improvement
After successfully completing the production release, we continuously grow and improve the product based on actual usage data and user feedback.
